4 Audios · Dauer 0:38 · Gruppe „The Thank-You Relay“

Transkript Teil 1
UhrPersonTextDauer
15:00Alex Hello Jo. Alex here. Our class is making thank-you cards for an invented school event. We need to thank the right helpers. 0:10
15:01Jo Hi Alex. Ava made signs, Sam and Rene brought chairs, and Miles carried a box. Different messages refer to different people. 0:09
15:02Alex The children can listen for her, him and them. We should keep each word connected to the names already mentioned. 0:09
15:03Jo Good. This is a paper message game. We are not sending messages to real people or collecting anyone's private contact details. 0:09

Teil 2 · Chat

Who receives each thank-you?

4 Audios · Dauer 0:38 · Gruppe „The Thank-You Relay“

Transkript Teil 2
UhrPersonTextDauer
15:05Alex First, write Ava's card. Please thank her for making the signs. She checked that visitors could read every arrow clearly. 0:10
15:06Jo Next, put Sam and Rene on the next card. Please thank them for bringing the chairs. They worked together. 0:08
15:07Alex Finally, write Miles's card. Thank him for carrying the box gently. Put all three cards inside the long yellow envelope. 0:09
15:08Jo Our envelope stays on the class table before the game. We can read the names again before matching each card to its receiver. 0:10

A different envelope colour

4 Audios · Dauer 0:42 · Gruppe „The Thank-You Relay“

Transkript Teil 3
UhrPersonTextDauer
15:10Alex The yellow envelope has a large ink mark across its front. We have another long envelope ready for the same three cards. 0:10
15:11Jo Use the green envelope instead of the yellow one. Only its colour changes. Keep the same three thank-you cards inside. 0:11
15:12Alex Sam and Rene still receive the message about chairs. Ava still receives the message about signs. The recipients do not change. 0:11
15:13Jo Please tell the helper which envelope to choose. A different colour does not mean that the thank-you messages go to different people. 0:11

Keep names and pronouns together

4 Audios · Dauer 0:40 · Gruppe „The Thank-You Relay“

Transkript Teil 4
UhrPersonTextDauer
15:15Alex I can draw a line from the names to the short pronoun. That makes the connection visible while children listen. 0:09
15:16Jo I can put Sam and Rene on one name card together. That helps children notice that them refers to both helpers here. 0:10
15:17Alex I ask children to give the names behind a pronoun. Repeating them alone does not show whether they mean one person or two. 0:10
15:18Jo Exactly, Alex. Naming the people checks the reference. We thank the helpers for their work, rather than guessing from a name or picture. 0:10

Teil 5 · Exit-Ticket

Jo Here is a new thank-you game. Ella and Noor painted a sign. Please thank them for their careful work. Finn moved the table, so please thank him too. Put both message cards in a blue envelope beside Jo's folder. 0:17
